You love and strive to be a successful blogger; you’ve your own definition of what success is, which can be more money, fame, prestige, influence, and power.
Perhaps, you’ve always wonder how successful bloggers achieved so much that you want to learn and emulate them. Don’t think too far because the answers lie in their mindsets and behavioral traits to blogging.
Even if you’ve been blogging and consider yourself not too successful to the standard you’ve always wanted, you feel every effort always hit the rock; don’t sweat it because this article will be an eye-opener; so I urge you to keep reading.
1. You’ve to be an extrovert
As a blogger who desires success, you’ve to love sharing information, your experiences, and expertise to your followers. Being an introvert is what makes some bloggers experience writing block because they can’t simply think it. Whenever an idea pops up, they keep blocking it with their introversive mind.
I can’t blog about this; this is not for public consumption and all sorts of blocking thoughts.
This kind of people don’t like to network, meet new people; gain new experiences or practice new things, and go to new places.
Even if you feel your information is worth a premium, be confident and charge top dollar for it; rather than keeping its secrets. As far as you’re confident your product will solve the problem, it has passed through testing and beta-testing, you’re great to go for the premium.
Many successful bloggers you desire are extrovert; they share information even outside their blogging subject that seems helpful to their audience. In this process, they’re increasing their value, influence and positively impacting their followers’ lives.
Nevertheless, I’m not trying to ignore the fact you shouldn’t have a secret, it’s allowed, your choice and decision and we all have different meanings to the term secret. What you consider secret might be something I’ll gladly love to share to the outside world but this habits shouldn’t get so introversive bad that, you won’t be able to share or teach what you consider will be of help to other people.
If you don’t do it now and grab the privilege been given to you, you’ll be surprise another blogger will do the same thing even better, and grab all the fame, prestige, and wealth from it.
Be extrovert …. .
Be helpful …. .
2. Be Passionate
This is the strong feeling you’ve by expressing your opinion about a subject you like to make a meaningful contribution to by teaching, coaching and offering products or services.
If your intention for blogging is to start making money, you’ll burn out quickly and feel disappointed when the money is not flowing in or perhaps, it’s flowing in but not the way you expected it. Successful bloggers don’t start by monetizing or applying endlessly for Google AdSense.
Don’t get things mix up here … I don’t mean you shouldn’t consider applying even early, but if you apply for AdSense early during your journey and you’re given, that’s fine but if you aren’t; you shouldn’t feel discourage and stop blogging.
That’s the passion, the spirit.
Your first task as a newbie blogger starting out is to build followership and if possible, have your own community. This is what the richest and successful social internet businesses did; the like of Google, Facebook and etc.
It’s not an easy feat to build your followership, and this is where you’ve to consistently create content that meets the need of your readers and spends time promoting them via free organic traffic, paid advertisement and every legit means of snagging traffic.
To discover your passion, you’ve to be YOURSELF and think out of the box. You’re unique, distinct and nobody can be like you and you can never be like me or another person. I can never achieve what you’ll achieve and likewise mine. So, why won’t you adopt your real self and being?
You simply have your unique contribution to the industry. Don’t sway but flow with the tide as it comes along.
How to detect your Passion
According to Farrah Gray in his book “The truth shall make you rich”, he suggested you ask yourself these 3 questions. They are:
Question 1: What comes easy to you but hard for another person?
What do you enjoy doing that your friends, colleagues, and relatives compliment and praise you always for doing an outstanding job? I know you do a lot of things, but make sure next time, you’re observant and watch out for signals.
A Yoruba proverb says, Ifura, logun agba: meaning, being observant is the elder medicine. That’s what makes an elder person great or makes someone elder is by being observant and this connote someone knowledgeable, superficial, extraordinarily brilliant and all that.
The phrase is quite deep, worth studying and thinking about. If you’ve read or studied scientific report, you’ll notice this trait in their work and most successful scientists in the world are super observant. They don’t belittle any phenomena.
Thus, strive to be observant always. You might’ve taken many things for granted and intuitively not aware of the praises because you consider them so cheap and easy for you to do. Think about this, you’ll discover something more.
Question 2: What can you do non-stop even if you don’t mind getting paid for it?
What is the act you like doing for people whole-passionately that you don’t care about any reward and money or you accept anything being given? Think about it because it’s high time you turn it into a serious business — great package solution.
Question 3: What do you enjoy doing as a form of service and giving back to your community?
Yes, there is passion in the community service you’re doing which can be converted into a profitable business. Is it by educating toddlers or babysitting them, teaching adult’s basic education, engaging in social welfare or anything that brings about contribution and development to your society for better co-existence?
When you discover what you’re passionate about, you can use blogging as a social platform to communicate, build relationship and community, thus; building a profitable blogging business.
What Some Successful Bloggers Say About Passion
3. Be Patience
There is a virtue in everything you do and blogging is not an exception. You must be aware and understand that blogging is not a quick money making affair or a job that will make you rich and famous overnight.
Blogging isn’t a job where you’ll be getting thousands of visitors per every day or month even if you invest in a paid advertisement; you’ve to work smartly towards achieving it consistently.
It’s not a job you’ll start getting ranks for your posts on the first pages of Google, Bing, & Yahoo etc.
It takes time ….. Patience
You’ve to be patient in achieving your entire goals. There will be failures, but through it, all, accept them as signs of advantage for learning and becoming smarter at what you enjoy doing.
A lot of would-be bloggers (student) aren’t patience at learning and they want to start making money fast. They’ve fall victims of scammers and cheap coaches who don’t give them everlasting blogging business blueprint.
If you love to be successful as a blogger, like those you admire and aspire to be; you’ve to exercise great patience. Blogging is filled with great potential and such feat can’t be achieved overnight. It requires your smart work, steadfastness, keeps re-strategizing & re-testing are the factors to success with no absolute substitute. You’ve to keep working on your website, publish quality and relevant contents (articles, infographic, images, audio & videos), and keep promoting your published contents.
All these bloggers are successful today because they were patience but this doesn’t mean your story will be like them. I started making money from the first blog after about a year or so; thus, your story will be different especially if you decide to invest in effective blogging business training.
If you desire to be successful like them, you’ve to exercise the same mindsets and traits by been patience. Don’t give up, with the right principles on blogging business; you’ll arrive safely at your goldmine.
If you see it, you can do it.
Remain steadfast till you achieve it.
4. Be Focus
Do you’ve many options to start with, like so many activities begging for your attention? You’re not alone because I went through the same experience and not good at all.
To be laser focus is not an easy task to accomplish.
I’ll advise you to start with the topics with great strength, experiences & expertise. You must have a center of attraction (that is the subject or topic) where all your energy will be well spent and utilize, while you hire others to do the best job for you.
Follow One Course Until Successful.
Many successful bloggers identify with this trait, and it’s wise you adopt it as well.
5. Be a Risk Taker
There is no business that doesn’t have its own risks. It’s akin to
consequences of our actions whose result could be good or bad. Expect risks, failures, and challenges in your journey to emerge as a successful blogger and these will make you grow and develop.
At the beginning, you might not get it right with the business model, but as you build and improve, you’ll surely get it right which will be unique to your business and translate into great results such as higher income margin, and popularity that your competitors can’t beat.
The most important thing is to start.
6. Be Consistent
Think about your achievement so far, you must’ve remained committed to achieving them. They weren’t smooth sailing but the experiences you pass through have to increase your knowledge and make you stand firm.
This same approach should be adapted to your blogging business. To be a successful blogger, you’ve to be consistent at what you do and this requires continuous knowledge, creating new strategies and taking actions. You’ve to keep researching and creating quality content for your target readers.
Quality is paramount and remembers there is no perfect blog anywhere. I’ve personally updated my blogs which resulted in higher traffic and sales.
7. Be Original, Be Real
Blogging requires originality and you’ve to be creative about your contents by standing out from the rest of bloggers in your industry. Don’t copy anybody you feel is successful in your subject.
Strive to write original and quality content for your target visitors by infusing your innate thought, ideas, expression, and style no matter your application. The content you publish is what will keep attracting visitors to your blog and will make them come back for more. Thus, your traffic will keep increasing in popularity which will eventually translate into consistent income if you’ve premium offers like an advertorial space, digital, physical goods and services.
In addition, Google and other search engines provider like original, engaging and relevant content. This is one of their criteria for increasing the rank of a blog on search result pages and finally getting to the first page.
8. Be Entrepreneur
Successful bloggers are entrepreneurial in spirit. In fact, bloggers are an entrepreneur, so you should start preparing your mind on that. They’re business savvy in every single operation and management of their blog.
Even though, I stated money shouldn’t be your utmost priority and motivation to start a blog; nevertheless, it doesn’t mean you should neglect every opportunity that comes your way about generating consistent income streams for your blog, getting the reward and value for your work.
Besides, an entrepreneur journey is not about chasing the money but fulfilling a missing need and want which will later translate into money and wealth.
Blogging is a serious job and business, and you’ve to treat it that way. You’ve to create products and offer premium services if your subject gives room for that. An entrepreneur is a problem solver. You’re simply providing a solution to your target visitors through your contents and not all might be free. You’ve to study your visitors, know their needs, struggles, and problems and provide it for them.
If you created 3 advertorial spaces and there is an increase in demand for one of them, what you can smartly do is to increase its price and observe the demand rate. By doing that, you’re getting to the root of its real value. In addition, breaking your advertorial price plan into months, quarterly, half a year can be a better value strategy.
Make sure you’re applying entrepreneurial skills to your blog and watch out for the dots and connect them up. Successful bloggers operate like a serious-minded blogger.
9. Always be curious, make research and read
Successful bloggers are curious, skillful researchers and readers. Reading blogs related to your niche is one of the most effective ways to improve your writing and knowledge. What you read will fuel your imagination and broaden your mind which will eventually shape how you write and deliver the result.
10. Always learn SEO
To be successful as a blogger, don’t run away from search engines optimization (SEO); but learn to master the art of search engines optimization (SEO). Some bloggers are neglecting SEO, by not including it as one of the streams for getting traffic and this is very wrong and fatal for their business in the long term. They would rather focus on social media traffic and other forms of traffic.
If they indulge in that, where is the risk?
Where is the adventure, the love of trying new things?
Search engines optimization (SEO) is very competitive but that shouldn’t scare you away from optimizing your blog for users where billions of searches are being carried out every day. It might seem very competitive to get rank on the first page but the benefit that comes with it is enormous. It’s only in search engines where you can get seriously targeted readers who might become your regular readers, subscribers, and buyers.
Let assume your blogging is about cake and is well optimized; when users search for cake and your blog pop-up among the result, that’s it: is like demand and supply. All successful bloggers that I know exercise this trait of optimizing their posts for search engines users and you’ve to follow this method in other to be successful as well.
If you’ve got the budget for social media traffic, it’ll complement your optimized post because one of the signals search engines watch out for in ranking your new blog is popularity which might initially emanate from social media shares and traffic.
Why waste all that money on social media marketing, leaving your blog not well optimized for SEO traffic as well. You’ve to learn how to optimize each of your blog posts with the right keywords for search engines.
11. Always Network
Successful bloggers are great networkers and you’ve to invest time building a mutual relationship with your colleagues in the industry. You can achieve this through guest posting which some accept; leaving a rich comment on their blogs and forum, follow them on twitter, and create rapport and relationship.
You can join Facebook and Linkedin group that deals with your related subject; create awareness, make contribution and network. By always doing this, you’re building trust and community.
12. Always Keep on Schedule and Effective Calendar
Successful bloggers keep a publishing calendar that cut across their blog and their social media platforms. When you’ve got a detailed daily and weekly publishing schedule for your blog, it’ll help with consistent publishing, thereby improving your engagement and community.
You’ve to schedule time creating, promoting your contents, making a contribution on a discussion forum, attending to your visitors’ comments and email subscribers, and managing your adverts which require effective organizational skills.
If you like to be successful in your blogging business which I know you want and deserve, you must follow these 12 mindsets and behavioral traits of successful bloggers. It might seem hard, but gradually, it’ll become a habit and this is where success lives.
Success is not easy to come by, that’s why you’ve to work hard on your mindsets and traits to blogging business. You’ve to want it, visualize it and keep chasing after it till you get it …
You must not be too introverting but an extrovert who likes to give helpful information that improves the lives of your target audience even if it’s outside your focus subject.
You must be passionate about your blogging subject; in fact, some experts in the industry regard this as the bedrock of blogging. Passion is the fuel that keeps you growing and developing.
You must have focus, stick to your strength till you’re being proven and stop swaying or dabbling around. If you don’t position your blogging business very well and stand firm, you’ll discover you’ve lost a lot of time with waste resources.
