Internet technology was discovered in the 1960s while investigating how the use of the computer as networks could ease communication and blogging as become a platform.
Much successful business is leveraging the power of the internet to manage their marketing, branding, customer service and it keeps growing.
Questions you should be asking are … …
What’s the major essence of a business blogging?
What’s the most determine factor that enhances success or otherwise?
What do you need to keep playing around with, keep testing and perfecting your act?
It’s simply communication.
Many internet business experts call it web copy.
Your communication can be in various channels. It can in the form of video, image, audio and text like what you’re reading.
If someone is selling poor quality product and is communicating well to its target users .. ..
The fellow can make huge sales more than a rival who has a far better product but his communication is poor or just there (fair).
But the fellow with poor product or brand will not last long in the market because, in this era of the internet age, consumers now have more information and power.
If you win the first time, you’ll definitely lose the second time.
Thus, what I’m trying to express is how important great copy is to your blogging business.
You need to master the art of effective web copy.
You’ve to keep working at it because even the Gurus in the industry are still learning.
You’ve to learn the art of writing for your blogging business because it’s a different ball-game compared to other communication channels like public speaking, TV presentation and etc.
7 Tips to Better Your Web Copy
1. Make your welcome note attractive
Your headline needs to be persuasive, compelling and fill with beneficial substances.
You’ve to open the floor with some brain awakening words. Words that will alert your visitors’ body system boost their interest to click and keep yearning for more.
This is so important because it determines the overall readability rate and goal of your message.
When you want to write the script for that video, start with compelling and the problem-solving words that your viewers want, that make them glue and flow till the end.
They want straightforward answers to their question.
You can identify a movie with all the build-up stories. They don’t expect the quick ending of what happen to that guy or something.
They want it simple and concise.
The same applies to your audio, text, images and etc.
2. Fulfill your promise
The body of your message should have all the needed detailed information you invited your visitor to come initially and read about.
If not, you’ll be practicing it the wrong way, losing trust, credibility, and losing them to your competitors who will provide a better message.
3. Stories is life
Add stories to your web copy using your life experiences as an example or some other people.
Scenarios are better ways to convey the messages to your prospects and customers.
We tend to understand and feel a message better while using stories because it’s been part of us.
When I was very young, I used to visit the gateman at our house, also the security man at his small office in the evening with my peers to listen to his interesting stories.
Fictional but they seem real .. …
The message he was trying to pass across was simple for me to understand and that’s the goal of every business communication.
You want your visitors to sign up for consultancy or schedule a meeting, you want them to download an e-book; buy your product and etc.
You need to convey the message in the simplest manner and stories can do justice to that.
Make your copy simple to read for even a primary 4 pupils and make it entertaining as well.
You can add funny tweak and jokes an average visitor can understand.
If you can’t, better leave it …
Don’t just assume your visitors understand. Many can’t and by fulfilling all righteousness, express it as simple as possible.
What matters most is you’re achieving your business and customers goals.
5. Keep it flying
Start your web copy with the most important information. Every detail your visitors need to know before you start breaking them down into deeper details.
You know some visitors are in a hurry, if not many.
I am a victim myself.
Sometimes, I scan before I read. This is where the beauty of sub-headlines plays an important role.
They scan to look for important word or phrase in your body of copy they need and if they can’t find it, they leave.
In other words, when you provide tips to the answers at inception, it’ll further strengthen readability as you provide deeper details later on.
6. Audience is the lifeblood
Keep working hard to understand your target audience beforehand, this will help you craft the right message and provide answers to their question.
Your contents have to fulfill their need.
7. Better user experience
Breaking your contents into paragraphs is part of simplicity.
The rule of white spacing works fine for web copy.
A sentence or two can be classified as a paragraph. This will help scanners read some important sentences that are distinct from others rather than combining everything together.
Web copy is different from those essays writing you wrote years back in high school.
You’ve to think user experience. If you were to read your blog post, can you enjoy it and feel the ease in reading it.
I hope you can feel how important web copy can determine the success of your blogging business.
It’s a challenge for you and I as well.
You’ve to keep mastering the art with the best practice and you can only learn by doing it, by practicing it …
Just by changing a word or two from the headline of your web copy as a form of test, can bring profound effects to its conversion and goal of the web page in terms more clicks, views and instant purchase.
What other benefits do you think powerful copy has to blogging?
