Then click next if okay.
Step 3: Input your location details
Fill in the accurate physical address of your business (office, store, school or any physical business outlet) for customers to properly locate you for transactions.
Accurate physical address prevents bad reviews on your business name such as your address was difficult loacting or you gave a wrong address.
If Google noticed too many bad reviews, they might yank off your business both on search and map.
Therefore, the location details to be inputted are your country, street address, local government area, city, postal code, and state.
If your business provides delivery services, check the box as indicated.
If your business doesn’t yet have a fixed physical address, perhaps it’s a digital business or you don’t have an office or store yet but works from home, check hide my address and click next when satisfied with all the inputs.
Step 4: Service area
Here, Google simply want to understand your delivery service area and at the same time, provide excellent customer services.
Remember, this Google my business gives room for customers to express their opinion and give feedback about your services.
So, make sure any service area chosen, is what you can dearly fulfill.
There are 3 options.
a. Using mail or a courier: If you’re going to offer delivery service via mail or courier, check this place.
If you check this option, it means if a potential customer search for your business in Sokoto state, and you’re located in Lagos state, information about your business might pops-up.
It also means, you can deliver goods anywhere around the country.
Not any goods, but certain kind of goods. So, think about it carefully before you make a choice.
b. Distance around your business location: What area can you cover and serve diligently?
Let your customers know your limit.
For example: You manage a restaurant and can serve customers within 27 kilometer.
So anyone who needs your service and search for restaurant near me or restaurant within a certain location and your business pops-up among others result, you must take responsibility and be ready to serve such customer.

As usual, click next.
Step 5: Business Category
You will simply choose the category that best fit your business.
What’s simply your business name all about? What major products or services can you deliver?
For this listing, you’re allowed to choose one. Later, you will have the room to add more.
As you type, Google will show you many options. Choose what best represent your business.
Remember, this is the keyword your potential customers will search to discover you.
When done, hit the next button.
Step 6: Contact details
Fill the contact details for customers to know and reach you.
This includes contact phone number and website URL. If you don’t have a website, check the option as applied.
Move over to the next item.
Step 7: Business details verification
Google my business is going to verify the details you have inputted. They’ve got to make sure it’s accurate and abide by their terms.
Simply click finish for final listing.
Step 8: Verification
There are 2 ways Google my Business is going to verify your details.
a. Postcard: Verification will be done via postcard. This will be send by mail using the address submitted and it will arrive within 14 days.
So input your name and click the mail for submission.
The postcard will contain verification code. You will be guided on how to use it to verify your details online.
b. Live video chat: During official working time, a Google my business representative will have a live video chat with you.
You will be asked a few questions, or perhaps guide you on how to go about the final verification.
